My name is Kristy Patterson and this is my first blog....EVER. I have always toyed with the idea of starting a blog, but now, I have a new found motivation and desire to share my thoughts, ideas and joys in life...The SWEET things in life.
The sweetest thing in my life right now: my husband! I was married a few weekends ago and am thoroughly enjoying our new life together. I couldn't ask for a better man who supports anything and everything I set out to do. I am blessed.
I like to think of myself as a creative individual with a passion for all things that are sweet. I love to bake my famous sugar cookies and my new found cookie, The Brookie. It's my creation that was inspired by my husband's love for Brownies and my sugar cookies. So I came up with a dough that is a cross between the two, the brownie and the cookie, and behold The Brookie! I love trying to create the perfect buttercream frosting to top my cookies with. I have yet to master it, but I have no doubt I will conquer butter and powdered sugar! I love to bake my pumpkin apple bread and bake pies. I love all things sweet. But what I may love the most what unbeknownst to me until we were planning our wedding. I discovered how much I love candy. ALL candy. I LOVE CANDY!! There, I said it. I love candy.
While we were planning our wedding I decided that I wanted to create a candy bar or candy buffet as some would call it. To me, it was my way of dreaming up my own mini version of the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory and making it a reality. As a little girl I would watch Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory over and over again, wishing that I could run through the factory, dancing side by side with the Oompa Loompa's and have limitless access to the candy of my choice.

My wedding reception allowed me the chance to create what I had always wished for and share it with those who are so important to us. I researched different types of candy, glassware, ways of displaying my creation and really thought through how I was going to tie it all into the theme of my wedding. It was so much fun for me to do and now all I can think of is, "How can I do this again??" So, moving forward my goal is to bring these candy creations to life for others who love candy and all things sweet.
If you are throwing a party for a birthday, baby shower, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, wedding reception, engagement party, house warming, holiday or just because, step out and be different. Do something no one has done before and be the trend setter. Tap into that inner child and let it be free. Be sweet on candy and sweet on life. Call the candy queen and let me bring your vision to life or let me create something you will be thrilled with and your guests will fall in love with.
Pictures of my candy table will be posted soon. It's never a good thing to rush your photographer.
Be Sweet.
