Made By Me: Fish-Themed Baby Shower Cookies

Remember THIS post?  I couldn't wait to finish these cookies!!

Well....here they are!!

I recently had the pleasure of making custom cookie favors for a fish-themed baby shower for twin boys.  I had so much fun creating these cookies and I just love how they turned out.

I used royal icing for the base of the cookies.  Here I am flooding the icing onto the cookies.  The coloring was perfect.

When the flooding technique is used to decorate cookies, you will want to wait at least 24 hours before you cover the cookies, in order to let the icing fully dry.  The icing acts as a sealant on the cookie, so don't worry too much about the cookie drying out because it is uncovered for that extended period of time.

I used Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Grahams for the fish on the cookie.  I dipped them in Orange Candy Melts and used a bit of orange royal icing to secure them to cookie.  I piped bubbles with white royal icing.  It was the perfect touch to bring the two fish together.

My own fish Lou, short for Lieutenant, was so supportive of the theme!

Each cookie was individually bagged in a cellophane bag, tied off with a double-faced orange satin ribbon and a personalized tag thanking the guests for attending.

Be Sweet.
